A U.S. Navy SEAL named Shane Wolfe (Vin Diesel) is assigned to protect the Plummer children from enemies of their recently deceased father, a scientist who had created a top-secret weapon for the government (GHOST), and then hid the device in his garage. Wolfe must take care of the children while their mother is in Switzerland, retrieving the key to find the device. Much of the comedy is based on the contrast between Wolfe\'s military background and the travails of his rebellious suburban brood.
The film received mostly negative to moderate reviews. It performed well at the box office, taking in over $113 million — double its production costs.
The film premiered on ABC May 19, 2007 at 9pm. The film also premiered on Seven Network October 1, 2007 and was also televised in the UK on Monday 31 December 2007on BBC One.
